START YOUR ENGINES!!! (PROPER JUMP STARTING PROCEDURES) LADIES & GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES!!! (PROPER JUMP STARTING PROCEDURES)

VEHICLE BATTERIES COME IN MANY SHAPES AND SIZES… VEHICLE BATTERIES COME IN MANY SHAPES AND SIZES…. WHAT THEY TYPICALLY HAVE IN COMMON IS A POSTIVE (+) AND NEGATIVE (-) TERMINAL. NOTE THE POSTIVE (+) ICON NEXT TO THE TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY

JUMPER CABLES COME IN DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS AND CABLE WEIGHT JUMPER CABLES COME IN DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS AND CABLE WEIGHT. A LARGER CABLE DIAMETER REDUCES RESISTANCE …HENCE… LESS HEATING OF THE COATED JUMPER CABLE WIRE

STEP ONE: CONNECT ONE OF THE JUMPER CABLE CLAMPS (POSTIVE/RED/ORANGE) TO THE “DEAD” BATTERY’S POSITIVE (+) POST

STEP TWO: CONNECT THE REMAINING CLAMP OF THE SAME CABLE (POSTIVE/RED/ORANGE) TO THE “LIVE” BATTERY’S POSITIVE (+) POST

STEP THREE: CONNECT THE CLAMP OF THE REMAINING JUMPER CABLE (NEGATIVE/BLACK/GRAY) TO THE “LIVE” BATTERY’S NEGATIVE (-) POST

STEP FOUR: CONNECT THE OTHER END CLAMP OF THE SAME CABLE (NEGATIVE/BLACK/GRAY) TO A CLEAN METAL PART OF THE DISABLED VEHICLE

WARNING NEVER CONNECT TO THE NEGATIVE (-) BATTERY TERMINAL OF THE DISABLED VEHICLE

STEP FIVE: ATTEMPT TO START THE DISABLED VEHICLE FROM THE “LIVE” BATTERY ONLY. THE LIVE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING.

STEP SIX: WHEN THE DISABLED VEHICLE STARTS, REMOVE THE CABLES IN THE REVERSE ORDER THEY WERE PLACED INTO POSTION.
