PROPHETS nabiy = איבנ Hebrew for prophet, from naba = עכנ Hebrew for bubbling, gushing forth, overflow. PROPHET (assigned purpose): A prophet is one who is to speak God’s word on God’s behalf and to represent God to the people. He is God’s mouth, or someone who preaches the word of God (message that comes from God). He is the antithesis of a priest, who represents or speaks to God for the people. 5/29/2018

MOSES the PROPHET ATTRIBUTES of a PROPHET Numbers 1:1… Numbers 9:23 … Deuteronomy 18:15 … Acts 3:22-26… YHWH speaks to Moses YHWH commands the Hebrews through Moses Moses didn’t ask to be a Prophet…was chosen by YHWH YHWH gives dreams and visions to Moses—speaks to him face to face; and calls him a faithful servant Moses foretells of the coming Messiah—”a prophet like me” from among the Hebrews… listen to Him. Jesus fulfilled Moses prophecy Moses is considered one of the major prophets: Numbers 1:1 God calls His prophet from wherever he is and tells him what to do and what to say. Numbers 9:23 God uses His prophet to give direct orders to the people. Numbers 11:29 God’s Spirit was especially strong in His prophet. Numbers 6:8 God often used visions and dreams to communicate symbolically with His prophet. Deuteronomy 18:15 God’s prophets are from His Chosen People Acts 3:22-26 God’s prophets came from the throne of Israel starting with the prophet Samuel. 5/29/2018

MOSES the PROPHET EXODUS 3 & 4 GOD reminds Moses who He is GOD reminds Moses that He knows what they are suffering YHWH Redemptive God PHAROAH…who was evil, was allowed to become even more wicked so that God’s plan was fulfilled 5/29/2018
MOSES the PROPHET EXODUS 3 & 4 Nine times in Exodus the hardening of the pharaoh’s heart is ascribed to God (4:21; 7:3; 9:12; 10:1, 20, 27; 11:10; 14:4, 8); another nine times the pharaoh is said to have hardened his own heart (7:13-14, 22; 8:15, 19, 32; 9:7, 34-35). By using Romans 1:24-25, we can understand that the pharaoh alone was the agent of the hardening in each of the first five plagues. Not until the sixth plague did God confirm the pharaoh’s willful action (9:12), as He had told Moses he would do (see Romans 9:17-18 et al for further clarification).
