What is CIVINET? EC funded project Objectives: Establish 5 city networks in seven member states: France; Italy; Spain and Portugal; Slovenia; and UK & Ireland. Ultimate goal is a larger number of interlinked networks. Timescale: 3 years Start Date: December 2009 EC support to UK&I Network: 152,000 euros Demonstrating Best Practice in Sustainable Transport l 30/03/2010 l Winchester l Chris Hadfield

Who can join the Network? Full membership is open to all regional and local authorities in the UK and Ireland Associate membership is available to research centres, Universities and any other public or private body with an active interest in sustainable urban transport Observer status has been granted to DfT, Welsh Assembly, Scottish Assembly, DoT Ireland and LGA - To share experiences and best practice Demonstrating Best Practice in Sustainable Transport l 30/03/2010 l Winchester l Chris Hadfield
