Programme LV05 «Research and Scholarships» Video

Activity «Scholarships» Main objective of the activity - strengthen bilateral relations by enhancing two-way mobility between higher education institutions (HEI) in Latvia and the Donor States (Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein) in order to increase the capacity and competence-building Mobility type: Student mobility – 3 up to 11 months Academic staff mobility – 1 up to 6 weeks Eligible thematic areas: no restrictions Budget available – 1 045 037 EUR EEA grants – 536 637 EUR (90% grants, 10% state budget) NOR grants – 508 400 EUR (90% grants, 10% state budget) 1 Call – finished on January 23rd, 2015

Activity «Scholarships» Applications received: 33 Projects approved: 28 joint scholarship projects First contracts signed in July 15, 2015 Last contract signed in November 30, 2015 Eligibility period: September 30, 2016 Mobilities planned: ~ 100 student ~ 180 academic staff 7 synergy projects Research 11 Scholarships 28 Prolongation request sent to FMO!!! December 2015 - received permission to prolong 10 projects

Activity «Scholarships» Reports/results Interim report + Final report Payments: Advance payment - 80% (836 030 EUR paid) Final payment - 20% (after approval of final report) 15 interim reports received: 6 approved; 9 (minor clarifications needed) 2 final reports received and approved (final payments will be made in the beginning/middle of June) Results achieved (based on received interim/final reports): 11 student and 16 staff mobility to Norway 5 student and 5 staff mobility to EEA EFTA States 8 out of 11 student and 5 out of 16 staff mobility to Norway are from synergy projects
