Dorset 2017 22nd – 26th May

Transport Streets Coach driver Alan will accompany us throughout the week. 7am Coach to pick-up from Combe Martin Primary School. 7.15am Coach to depart CM 7.45am Pick up at Woolacombe. PACKED LUNCH: they will need a packed lunch in a disposable container, plus morning and afternoon snacks. Plus a full refillable water bottle please (for use during the week).

Monday: We’ll explore some of the Jurassic Coast en route, visiting Charmouth.

Monkey World Hope to arrive at Monkey World at about 1pm. Arrive at Ashleigh Hotel at about 5.00pm

Tuesday: Beaulieu House & Motor Museum: The Tudors – a century of change at Beaulieu Children take the role of guests who have been invited to the manor of Beaulieu by its owner, Henry, 3rd Earl of Southampton, patron of William Shakespeare. They are invited as prospective members of his household. Will they get a job?!

Motor Museum & Bucklers Hard Maritime Museum – a chance to look at early shipbuilding and the lives of those builders Village life – meet some of the “villagers” and ask them questions! Ad hoc game of rounders!

Wednesday – early breakfast! We’re off to Portsmouth, to look around the Historic Dockyards. We’ll get a chance to look around the National Royal Navy Museum A Harbour Tour The Mary Rose Museum – refurbished, revamped and ready to explore! HMS Warrior, a 40 gun armoured steam powered frigate from 1860 HMS Victory, Nelson’s flagship HMS M.33 –, she served in the Mediterranean during WW1 and saw action at Gallipoli Action Stations – physical challenges, simulators and technological experiments

Thursday And then onto Splashdown! Moors Valley Country Park & Forest. Children can take their choice here – play park, woodland trails, orienteering etc And then onto Splashdown!

Friday Longleat Safari Park. We arrive at 10am and stay most of the day.
