Reading – We have been practicing how to SUMMARIZE a chapter by using these key words: someone, wanted, but, so , then. Next week, we will focus on DRAWING CONCLUSIONS and read Eric Carle’s The Tiny Seed. Spelling- Short and Long u words. Vocabulary – burst,desert,drifts, drowns, gently, neighbor. Strategy: CONTEXT CLUES Grammar- Nouns that name people, places, and things. Writing- Researching about spiders, and writing a report. Math- We continue to count to 1,000 and work with 3 digit numbers while understanding place value. Keep up the great work in Rocketmath! Science- We will continue to study animal groups, their needs to survive, and body parts. Social Studies- We will create a scrapbook about our community. We will study the difference between rural and urban communitites. Friday, October 4th, book orders are due. If you did not get a chance to sign up at Open House, please call into the office and set up a conference time with me! Conferences are scheduled on October 10th and 11th. Fall Party is November 1 from 2:00-3:00.
