December 2012 Findings & Data CAPs Remember: ISD monitors now verify evidence of correction for all data CAPs Verification of correction for December 2012 CAPs was due on November 1st! If you have not completed this work, it is due ASAP B-11 (Child Find) – 12 locals (3 of these were submitted but returned to the monitor) B-12 (Early Childhood Transition) – 1 local (this was submitted but returned) B-Timely – 10 locals (1 has not yet submitted for verification) 5

August 2013 Findings & CAPs CAPs for findings issued in August 2013 were due on October 1st All GSM and B-5 CAPs were submitted and have been approved 4 locals need to resubmit their B-13 CAP in CIMS Check the Compliance tab in CIMS to see if any of your locals are still at the status, “CAP Returned by MDE.” If any locals in your ISD have not resubmitted their CAP, help them do so ASAP 6

NEW - TVR TVR (Timely, Valid, and Reliable) findings are being issued for the first time Why? Timely, valid, and reliable data are required IDEA § 300.601(b)(1) Findings are based on data from the MSDS data verification activity conducted in CIMS this fall 63 locals participated 14 findings 10

Reports of Findings Fall Focused Monitoring (B-9, B-10, Significant Disproportionality – Identification and Discipline, GSM) 30 findings for 28 locals Expedited corrections for 6 locals 11

CAP Reminders December CAPs are due February 1 You can use the TA Notes feature to record CAP work 12

SLCAPs 218 SLCAPs were issued during Fall FM All must be corrected by the local and verified by the ISD monitor no later than November 25 If an SLCAP will not be corrected and verified on time, contact Jeanne AndersonTippettJ@michigan.gov Status review: Local completes its work at the “In Progress” status and changes the SLCAP to “Submitted.” ISD monitor verifies, and changes the SLCAP status to “Complete.” If the work is not complete, the ISD monitor changes the status to “Modifications Required” The SLCAP is finished when it is at the “Complete” status. 14
