Current space-based data for forest management Third National Forest Inventory (2007, António Marzoli): LULC Map for two provinces Maputo and Manica (1:250,000) based on Landsat-5 TM (2004), and LULC Map at National Level (1:1,000,000) based on Lansat-5 TM (2004, 2005). Zoneamiento Agroecológico Nacional (Ministério da Agricultura, 2010-2014): LULC Maps (1:250,000) based on Landsat-5 TM (2008-2010). SDCG-9 Frascati, Italy February 2016

New space-based data planned AD-FREL/FRL JICA in collaboration with DIRN (MITADER) is developing a national (province by province) 2012(/2013) LULC Map based on Landsat Imagery (last point in time for the historical analysis of the emmissions). JICA/DIRN AD Analysis to establish the FREL/FRL: Forest Cover Changes Map (Landsat: 2005/2010/2012): Result of applying a supervised classification routine to perform forest/non - forest change detection within the Google Earth Engine API (using Collect Earth Tool to establish the training dataset). New space-based data planned National Forest Monitoring System Updated LULC Map based on Sentinel-2 imagery (2015, 2016). Starting point for Forest Monitoring purposes (LULC map to be updated every 5 years; a basis for NFI updating). MRV-Unit (MITADER). Col. ESA, WB.
