Term to Know: Intellectual Focus 5/8 Influenced by Greek Philosophy and the Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment was an intellectual movement that stressed using reason and rationale thought in order to solve the problems of government, society and economics. Enlightened thinkers usually challenged absolute rule and divine right. Point for Discussion: What were the ideas of Greek Philosophers and the Scientific Revolution?
