Residence permits Directive 2011/36/EU on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims and replacing council Framework decision 2002/629/JHA, Article 11: „Member states shall … ensure that assistance and support are provided to victims before, during and for an appropriate period of time after the conclusion of criminal proceedings...“ Practise: usually stressful situation for victims after criminal proceedings have ended.

Legal aid Directive 2011/36/EU on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims and replacing council Framework decision 2002/629/JHA, Article 11/3: „Member states shall …. ensure that assistance and support for a victim are not made conditional on the victim´s willingness to cooperate in the criminal investigation, prosecution or trial..“ Practise: available only to those who are willing to cooperate with the police

Reflection period Programme for the support and protection of victims of trafficking Reflection period of 60 days. Practise: all practical logistics need to be done within this period. Time for „reflection“ is therefore shorter.
