Toys and entertainment There was a toy called PULL ALONG WALKING DOG. There was also a popular toy, that was a board game called CHINESE CHECKERS they also used to play another board game to called VINTAGE MONOPOLY. BACK GAMMON was a game but it went out of the popular, in 1950. These used to be quite popular games to play. Teddy bears had been a new craze in the early 1900s. The German toymaker Richard Steiff made the finest bears of all but when war broke out, German teddies became unthinkable. British toymakers rushed to make patriotic British bears instead.

Fashion When 1942 came along clothes was so popular, you couldn’t take your eyes of it. Girls wear silky dresses, that hung down to their knees, now men depending on their job, would either wear a very smart suit, or a dirty CAMAFOUGELED top and bottoms in the war. In Britain during the Second World War, one of the first noticeable changes in dress was the number of people - both men and women - wearing uniform

Air-Raid-Shelters As the night raids became so frequent, many people, who were tired of repeated interrupting their sleep, to go back, and forth, to the Air-Raid-Shelters, virtually took up residence in a shelter. The Anderson shelters were buried in the ground, with earth heaped on the top, to protect the from the bombs blasting their shelters. They were also known as bomb shelters, there were sirens that started flashing making WAILING sounds, it was a mad rush to get to the air–raid-shelters, even though they were in each others gardens!

FACTS World war two was a battle between two groups of countries. Some countries were NEUTRAL like Spain and Sweden. Over 60 million were killed and 50 million were prisoned! More than 100 million GAS MASKS were handed out! The USA didn’t join the war until 1941, when they got attacked by Japan.

INDEX Neutral means someone that didn’t fight in the war, in this case. Camaflouged means if something can’t be seen, it’s camaflouged. Wailing means a siren making noises. Gas Masks were a mask that you put on your face and protected you from the gases in the war

Currency In ww2 the money was a penny, Scottish shilling, English crown, half crown, threepence, sixpence, florin and half penny. The Nazi German 14 coin set on most of them there is a eagle in gold.
