Northwest

Relocation in the Northwest As of the end of June 2015, the Skywood site for St. Nicholas School was cancelled From July 1-28, 2015 meetings took place between the Ministry of Education, Sask Builds, City of Regina, Regina Public Schools and the Regina Catholic School Division to consider an alternate site for a new joint use school On July 27, 2015, Rosewood Park was selected and approved by the City of Regina as the new site of St. Nicholas School (joint use school)

Northwest September 2017 St. Angela School – French Immersion St. Bernadette School – English St. Nicholas School – English

Information – September 2017 École St. Angela is projected to have 515 students   St. Nicholas School is projected to open with an enrolment of 350 students (approximately 230 students from St. Angela and 120 students from St. Bernadette) St. Bernadette School is projected to have 400 students The transition for all St. Angela School English students will occur in September 2017

“Revised” - Boundary Change – St. Nicholas School

With new boundaries created for St. Nicholas and St With new boundaries created for St. Nicholas and St. Bernadette schools, transferring bused students from the former St. Bernadette catchment area to St. Nicholas School, will result in busing requirements with similar bus routes English school boundary changes would result in: providing busing to students within the respective school boundaries

grandfathering St. Bernadette students who wish to remain at the school but will not be eligible for busing to St. Bernadette School if they reside in the St. Nicholas boundary making a busing exception for the St. Bernadette Grade 8 (approximately 13) students, and siblings, who would receive the option of busing, even though they are out of the St. Bernadette boundary, for the 2017-2018 school year only

As of September 11, 2015, 429 out of 682 students attending St As of September 11, 2015, 429 out of 682 students attending St. Angela were bused to school, leaving 253 students that get to school by other means. It is possible that up to four bus routes would be required to transport English speaking students destined for St. Nicholas School pending the establishment of the walking/busing boundaries. Since all students from the current St. Bernadette School attendance area are presently bused to St. Bernadette School, no additional busing capacity would be required to bus these students to St. Nicholas School.

Thank You! Our Division looks forward to the opportunity of continuing to work with the St. Angela School community to meet the needs of our students and families to provide a quality Catholic education.
