Andrew LaManque, PhD Planning and Resource Council (PaRC) June 7, 2017 Foothill College Facilities Master Plan Update 2016-17 Addendum to the FHDA 2016 Facilities Master Plan, Foothill Section, Dated 08/19/2016 Andrew LaManque, PhD Planning and Resource Council (PaRC) June 7, 2017

Purpose of the Facilities Master Plan Update – 2016-17 PaRC asked that the committee reconsider the recommendation to build a new student services building and instead revisit the project recommendations connected to goals already highlighted in the plan.

Foothill Facilities Master Planning Timeline

Assumptions 1) Foothill students will increasingly bring a diverse range of skills and academic abilities to the learning process. 2) Online enrollments will continue to account for about one third of total enrollments. 3) Sunnyvale Center enrollments will continue to increase with an emphasis on Career and Technical Education (CTE) Programs. 4) The college plans to focus increasing attention on retaining students through completion of career, certificate, and transfer pathways. 5) The demand for more flexible classroom, meeting, and laboratory space across the disciplines will continue to increase.

Selected Background Data

Metrics 1) EMP Goal (by 2023): There will be no difference in the fall to winter persistence rate between Disproportionately Impacted and Other groups. 2) EMP Goal (by 2023): There will be no more than 13 percentage point difference between Disproportionately Impacted and Other groups’ current online annual course success rate. 3) The College will divert 50% or more of its hazardous and solid waste from the landfill. 4) 75% of students enrolled at the Sunnyvale Center will have Career and Technical Education (CTE) majors.
