You must not have any legal obligation to support a child or other individual. For those selected for NAPS or Foundation, back it up one year. This is not waiverable, it is Title 10, US Code.

There is no magic equation, just like there is no perfect scholar, no perfect athlete, and onwards; however, there are factors that we take into consideration during the review of each candidate’s record. RIC – Where do you fall amongst your classmates? We highly recommend candidates to take both the SAT & the ACT. You will need a teacher recommendation from a Math teacher & an English teacher. We will also look to see whether you are well rounded outside of the classroom, in athletic & nonathletic activities. A form is provided for taking this in your online application packet. It may be administered by any varsity coach, PE teacher, or by a commissioned military officer on active duty.

Medical Qualifications Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board [DODMERB] Schedules medical examinations for all officer accessions DODMERB medical exam will be scheduled when candidate completes at least 5 documents of the application Each Academy/officer accession program has different standards for entry Reports status to candidate & Admissions Department The Dept of Defense Medical Examination Review Board schedules medical examinations for all officer accessions. DODMERB will interprets the exam for compliance with standards established by each Academy/program DODMERB reports the medical status to candidate and programs. ****** DODMERB will review for information on illness, surgery, familial diseases and other factors that could affect candidate’s physical condition. If you do have a medical condition, there may be a couple of determinations: Medical condition might be aggravated by USNA’s rigorous program Medical condition precludes expectation of unrestricted service as an officer in USN/USMC Additional reports and/or evaluations may be requested. Final Waiver Authority rests with the Officer Accession Program, not DODMERB 2

Advice for Admissions Strong foundation in Mathematics and Science Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus & Calculus Chemistry and Physics (with a lab if possible) No minimum GPA Strive to be in at least the top 20 percent of your high school class. Take your SAT/ACT early and often. (No minimum) AP/Honors/IB Courses are encouraged Home-Schooled applicants Reviewed by admissions board member well versed in the various merits of different home school programs Well rounded Well rounded are individuals who are involved in Extra-Curricular activities, athletic and non-athletic, and still exhibiting high standards in the academic realm. Overextension is taking all AP/ Honors courses to beef up your record only you are excelling in those classes. Doing too many extra-curricular activities and not excelling in the classroom.
