TRACER STUDY: ROLES AND TARGETS FOR ACE Definitions: Tracer study/Alumni survey/ follow-up survey: Is a tool designed to measure the relevance of a certain academic training i.e. CSA Is a management tool for planning and monitoring of training programs i.e. Roles: Why tracer study? Provide valuable information : Evaluating results of a training Institutional development: In context of quality assurance Possible deficits in a program: A basis for future planning Professional success: Relevance of knowledge and skills

TRACER STUDY (Cont…) For programmatic changes: Review of curricula and delivery Targets : Are not exclusive lists Basics: What happens to graduates after the training/education Did they find jobs/ self-employed? Did they use knowledge and skills gained (from ACE)? Skills and competencies demanded in job market? Skills and knowledge challenges faced at workplace? Is there saturation of certain training areas?
