Why study Politics? AS Level – British Politics (Parliament / Judiciary / Constitution / Political Parties / Elections and Voting / Parliament/ Pressure groups/ The Prime Minister/The EU) Students get a thorough understanding of how the British political system works and whether it needs to be changed, as well as applying political theories to issues of government and current affairs. A2 Level – American Politics (The Supreme Court/ The Presidency/ Congress/Constitution/Political Parties/Interest Groups/Elections and Voting Behaviour) Students are able to compare and contrast the British and American systems and how they interact. This gives a flavour of international relations.
