Band Classes for Seventh Graders Beginning Band In Beginning Band you choose an instrument with the help of Mrs. Jones at the beginning of the school year. You don’t need to know how to play an instrument or read music before joining. Intermediate Band Intermediate Band is a more advanced class for students who participate in the summer band class (more info in the next slide). Students already have their instruments at the start of the year and are ready to play! *See Mrs. Jones if you already know how to play an instrument
Summer Band Camp Summer Band lasts for two weeks June 12-15 and 19-22 Students who take summer band will be placed in Intermediate Band for the school year There will be an instrument trail night so that Mrs. Jones can help you pick your instrument Summer band is a great opportunity to make friends before school starts The cost is $50.00 plus instrument rental and materials Summer Band is highly recommended, but not required
How to Join LAJH’s guidance department will deliver course selection sheets Write a “1” next to Intermediate Band if you plan on taking summer band OR Write a “1” next to Beginning Band if you would like to join band at the beginning of the school year
