In Y3 we are learning about the Stone of our learning with you. Welcome to Y3 In Y3 we are learning about the Stone Age and we would like to share some of our learning with you.

We have learnt that archaeologists are people who studies artefacts (objects) from the past and looks for clues to tell them about people and places.

We became archaeologists on Thursday and studied some fossilized Stone Age ‘poo’, searching for clues about the Stone Age diet. Please see our information sheets about our discoveries.

We have also created journey sticks, which the Pre Historic people used as maps. This was a fantastic opportunity to identify the different types of trees in our school grounds.

We have also explored how the Stone Age people many have used numbers and created our own Stone Age number systems.

We have also explored Stone Age cave painting and jewellery, have started to create our own cave and have made some salt dough beads that we will make into bone necklaces.
