Rahab means “wide or broad” Rahab means “wide or broad”. The word has been used to denote human pride and arrogance.

Harlot is the Hebrew porne from pornos -- meaning “to sell, to prostitute”.

“And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there,” Joshua 2:1.

“But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof,” Joshua 2:6.

“Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall,” Joshua 2:15.

Crossing the Jordan Joshua 3

“And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over,” Joshua 3:1.

The Invasion of Canaan

“And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people,” Joshua 3:6.

Note: Joshua 3:16 – cut off = Heb. “karath” – word used for cutting a sacrificial animal to confirm a covenant Joshua 3:17 – people = Heb. “gowy” – to mass / a nation

Cities of the Amorite Kings “The combined communities of the Gentiles are allied together , believing that they attain to great heights and that they are invincible; whereas, in reality, they are weak as calves in their opposition to Yahweh, and will be trodden down by Him.”

“And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword,” Joshua 10:11.
