ACVA Mission and Purpose To deliver quality, flexible online options for the diverse educational needs of students and their families as a strategy for increasing the graduation rate and preparing students to be successful in a global society.

ACVA WHO? Aiken County Public School students Grades 7 to 12 Taught by Aiken County Teachers

ACVA WHAT? Web-based courses Engaging and Rigorous Self-paced…to a degree Facilitated by certified teachers Asynchronous Learning Supported by lab proctors in a lab setting

ACVA WHEN? Two sessions during the school year September – January January – May Limited Summer Program Honors Geometry (140 so far this summer) Keyboarding (over 300 this summer) Computer Applications

ACVA WHERE? Most students work one class period during the day in a lab setting Students also work at home after school Can work anywhere there is internet available

ACVA WHY? Students getting ahead Students catching up Homebound students Expelled students Course not offered at school Schedule conflicts Honors, AP, College Prep
