A full explanation of the judgement is here; http://www.parliament.scot/ResearchBriefingsAndFactsheets/S5/SB_16-66_Named_Person.pdf In response to the judgement Scottish Government have stated they will commence a three month period of intense engagement led by the Deputy First Minister and the Minister for Childcare and Early Years, Mark McDonald.  Once that work is completed, the Deputy First Minister will return to Parliament to announce the next steps in terms of legislative process.  The ambition of the Deputy First Minister is to work towards a commencement date of August 2017.
