Summary And Key Terms In this lesson you will Simplify expressions with negative exponents Key Term Negative Exponent- A negative exponent of a number equals to the reciprocal of positive exponent of the number.

Opposites 102 = 100 10-2 = 1/100

Basically... You still raise the # to the power. The negative just makes it 1 over the #. Ex. 20-2 = 1/400
