Miss Goins’ Classroom News April 13, 2015 We will be reading our next story in the Reading Street series this week entitled Two Bad Ants. We will bring our books home on Wednesday. Please reread the story that night and we will take our comprehension test on Thursday. We are learning about using commas correctly and will have our grammar quiz on Thursday. We will have our math fact test on Friday. We are completing a unit over two-dimensional shapes. Our assessment will be on Wednesday. In reading we are focusing on comparing stanzas, chapters, and scenes. We will have our comprehension test on Thursday. We are continuing writing workshop and we are focusing on writing poems. April is national poetry month, so we will be learning about elements of poetry and writing many different types of poems. We are beginning a unit in Social Studies over Granville History. In grammar we are learning about using commas correctly. Our quiz is on Thursday. April 16th – tour of GIS April 21st – Spring pictures April 23rd – OAA Reading Test April 30th – PARCC test May 7th – PARCC test May 11th – Granville History walking tour May 21st – Field Trip to Franklin Park May 28th – Field Day – Volunteers needed – We have 1 volunteer for our class and are looking for more. Our activities are planned from 9:15 until about 12:00.
