The history of this imposing stone house can be traced back at least 1000 years. The estate was originally established as a religious building, became a post house during the middle ages when the medieval pilgrim route, the Via Francigena, passed through the estate.

The villa has been restored with great taste and style and is both elegant and comfortable. It combines lovely Italian antiques with all the modern amenities including American-made beds, overhead fans in all bedrooms and pull down screens on windows. The bathrooms have also been renovated with travertine marble and wood detailing and each bathtub sits in front of a window overlooking the lovely countryside. The ground floor is comprised of entrance hall with medieval stone flooring, very large vaulted dining/living room/entertaining area with high vaulted columns and a grand fireplace and six dramatic French doors opening onto terraces. State-of-the-art kitchen with area for grilling, opening onto a terrace, bedroom with a queen-size bed and en suite bathroom.

The upper floor can be reached by travertine marble stairs or by a spiral iron staircase and is composed as a large living room with immense medieval fireplace, living room and large dining area, fully equipped state-of-the-art kitchen, a library and a master suite with a separate sitting area, canopied queen-sized bed and bathroom with a bathtub and shower. There are four further bedrooms, one with queen size bed and en-suite bathroom, another with queen size bed and sharing en-suite bathroom with bedroom three which has twin beds and a loft bedroom with two twin beds, sofa bed and shower room.
