WHAT ARE BIKES? Bike is short for bicycle. It is a two wheel object that you power yourself by pedalling. They have no engine or run on fossil fuels. It is hard to learn to cycle when you are young because you don’t have the same balance or confidence.

WHO INVENTED THE BIKE? The first bicycle called Velocipede was built by the French man calledx Comte de Sivrac in 1791.

HOW DO BIKES WORK? You use your feet to power the bike by pushing down one pedal and then the other will come up. When that process is happening it spins the back wheel and that moves the bike forward. A bike cant go backwards.

TYPES OF BIKES There are different types of bikes for different types of ground. In fact there are over 17 different types of bikes in the world. Every bike has a different purpose.
