COMENIUS PROJECT 2010-2012 Three European Generations ITALY- 2005 ON COMENIUS PROJECT 2010-2012 Three European Generations

The solidarity of the 2005 generation on ITALY- 2005 ON The solidarity of the 2005 generation on Solidarity is the integration shown by a society or group with people and their neighbors. It refers to the ties in a society -social relations - that bind people to one another. The term is generally employed in sociology and the other social sciences.  What forms the basis of solidarity varies between societies. In simple societies it may be mainly based around kinship and shared values. In more complex societies there are various contributions to a sense of social solidarity: these go from solidarity towards people in need , who can’t afford their basic needs, to voluntary work in support of weak categories of people: the elders, people in hospitals, young children whose parents cannot take care of them for various reasons , just to make a few examples. In our area there is a long tradition of voluntary work in favour of various groups of people in need of support: some of these include areas where only adults are involved for obvious  reasons and especially because they are too delicate for teens or for economic reasons : adults only can finance projects such as a new machine to be used in a hospital.

THE VIEWS OF YOUNG PEOPLE In my poll I’ve found out that most people think that the majority of people in Italy are poor, however there is cooperation in our country between rich people and poor people. There isn’t cooperation among the poor because their priority is survival,so they can’t help other people in need. In order to help the poor people could make donations, organize free meals and give old clothes. There are charities and voluntary associations, but only a few people are involved in it,while the majority of people think that a donation is enough. In fact it is easier to give some money than to get involved at a personal level, for example they find it more difficult to spend their free time helping needy people. In italy poverty is increasing but there are a lot of rich people who can do a lot in order to help the others. Only a few people interviewed think that in Italy poverty doesn’t exist and that the greatest majority of people are well off. ITALY- 2005 ON
