Kitchens BEGINNING ESL LESSON

refrigerator Refrigerators keep food cold. This refrigerator is full of food and drinks. Teaching Tip: Give students a vocabulary list and have them look up the words and write the definitions.

stove We can cook on a stove. Stoves have burners and ovens.

hutch We keep dishes, silverware, and tablecloths in a hutch.

microwave Food cooks quickly in a microwave. Microwaves use electricity.

coffee maker This is a coffee maker. It makes coffee. Teaching Tip: Have students hold the globe and point to where they are from. Take pictures of them with a digital camera.

coffee pot We can make coffee in a coffee pot. This is an old-fashioned coffee pot.

toaster We can make toast in a toaster. This toaster has two slots for bread.

blender We can make juice in a blender. Someone is making fruit juice in this blender.
