Formation of Questions Statement: Question: Jan is at home. Jan ist zu Hause. Subject Verb Object Is Jan at home? Ist Jan zu Hause? Verb Subject Object

Formation of Questions Statement: Question: Your name is Alex. Is Alex your name? Du heiβt Alex. Heiβt du Alex? Subject Verb Object Verb Subject Object

Ich kenne das Auto. Kenne ich das Auto? Statement: Question: I know the car. Do you know the car? Ich kenne das Auto. Kenne ich das Auto? Subject Verb Object Verb Subject Object

Sometimes the subject of the sentence is replaced by a personal pronoun (Ich ,du, er, sie, es, Sie, wir, ihr, sie). This does not change the formation of a question format. Maria geht in die Schule. (S+V+O) Sie geht in die Schule. (S+V+O) Geht sie in die Schule? (V+S+O)
