Critical Thinking What does the critical core competency Critical Thinking mean? The ability to interpret, analyze, synthesize, or evaluate information, issues and ideas and apply creative thought to formulate an opinion, solve a problem or reach a conclusion. Key Indicators 1. Student selects and uses information appropriately to investigate a point of view or conclusion. 2. Student formulates and articulates a position. 3. Student evaluates concepts and information to support an opinion, solve a problem or reach a conclusion. 4. Student articulates a logical conclusion and identifies implications and consequences. 5. Student integrates different ideas and concepts within a position.
