World Para Nordic Skiing aka IPC Nordic Sking 2016/17 Season update to Nations Vuokatti 2016 World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup

The following update will provide information about changes and initiatives for the coming season, including: New brand Rules changes and updates New Biathlon Relay Equipment Inventory New Bibs Biathlon tests

New brand From 30 November 2016, the 10 sports that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) acts as international federation for being rebranding and adopting new names and new identities. In our case IPC Nordic skiing becomes World Para Nordic Skiing and includes the sports of Para Cross Country Skiing and Para Biathlon and we will have three pictograms. The decision to rebrand the sports with the Para prefix has been taken to make it clearer to the public which sport the international federation is responsible for and to make them more distinctive from their Olympic or able-bodied equivalents. It also ensures that the IPC brand and the word Paralympic is only used in connection with the Paralympic Games.

New brand In 2017 the new brands will be applied to the World Championships but not the World Cups. By 2018 the new branding should be fully implemented. For the time being we will use both brands, particularly at the world cup level.
