Learning Objectives Must: Be able to explain what is meant by the term “Logo” Should: Be able to explain the reasoning behind your Logo design Could: Be able to evaluate your logo design, giving suggestions on how it could be improved

Review of Logos What is the message it is trying to give? Does it show the customer what it sells? Does it display the company name? Does it relate to the business type? What is the logo? Is it a picture? Is it an image? Is it just text?

What is a Logo? A logo is a specific symbol chosen to represent a company It can be a drawing, illustration, symbol, abbreviation, lettering style, or word

Types of Logo There are three basic types of logos, which can be used alone or combined within one design: Illustrative logos - a logo which clearly illustrates – or shows - what your company does Graphic logos - a logo that includes an image, often a representation of what your company does Font-based logos - text style which stands for your company

What makes a good logo? Can you add any more? Good Logo Colour? Text? Pictures? Memorable? Can you add any more?
