What is a rain forest? A rain forest is hot and humid. It rains 80 inches per year 50% of all animals in the world live there.

Location of Rain Forests There are Rain Forests in North America, South America, Asia,and Africa. They are located around the equator. Location of Rain Forests

The emergent layer has a lot of animals that fly over it such as Harpy eagle, butterflies, and parrots. All you can see is the very tops of the trees. Emergent Layer

The canopy layer has a lot of animals that live there such as monkeys, lizards, parrots, butterflies, and bats. The canopy hides most of the sun light from reaching the ground. Canopy Layer

Understory Layer The understory has beehives on the branches, bats, and woodpeckers.The Vines grow up the trees.

Forest Floor There are a lot of plants and animals on the forest floor such as jaguars,leaf litters, tapirs, armadillos, anacondas, rosy periwinkles, and rafflesias.

Deforestation The Rain Forests are getting destroyed because of mining, logging, cattle grazing, and building towns and cities.

People of the Rain Forest There are still a lot of people that live in the Rain Forest. They get their food from the land. People of the Rain Forest

Jaguars If the Rain Forest is destroyed the jaguar would not have any food to eat, and no habitat to live in.
