Note well Any submission to the IETF intended by the Contributor for publication as all or part of an IETF Internet-Draft or RFC and any statement made within the context of an IETF activity is considered an "IETF Contribution". Such statements include oral statements in IETF sessions, as well as written and electronic communications made at any time or place, which are addressed to: the IETF plenary session, any IETF working group or portion thereof, the IESG or any member thereof on behalf of the IESG, the IAB or any member thereof on behalf of the IAB, any IETF mailing list, including the IETF list itself, any working group or design team list, or any other list functioning under IETF auspices, the RFC Editor or the Internet-Drafts function All IETF Contributions are subject to the rules of RFC 5378 and RFC 3979 (updated by RFC 4879). Statements made outside of an IETF session, mailing list or other function, that are clearly not intended to be input to an IETF activity, group or function, are not IETF Contributions in the context of this notice. Please consult RFC 5378 and RFC 3979 for details. A participant in any IETF activity is deemed to accept all IETF rules of process, as documented in Best Current Practices RFCs and IESG Statements. A participant in any IETF activity acknowledges that written, audio and video records of meetings may be made and may be available to the public. MMUSIC @ IETF 82

WG status (2) Progress of other work items: RFC 4566bis, draft-ietf-mmusic-rfc4566bis-04 Mostly done, should keep it open for a while in case some additional fixes are needed. RTSP NAT traversal, draft-ietf-mmusic-rtsp-nat-11 and RTSP NAT evaluation draft-ietf-mmusic-rtsp-nat-evaluation-04 Mostly done, should go to WGLC right after RTSP 2.0. SCTP media in SDP, draft-ietf-mmusic-sctp-sdp-00 Mostly done, waiting for a minor update. Progressing towards WGLC soon. CS descriptions in SDP, draft-ietf-mmusic-sdp-cs-09 Still discussing some issues, status later in this meeting. SDP directorate The ADs have approved the creation of the SDP directorate. The goal is to provide support to documents that extend SDP and are created outside the MMUSIC WG. We are fine tuning the process and list of initial volunteers. Expect some further information in the list If you are aware of a document extending SDP, please contact the chairs. MMUSIC @ IETF 82

Alternatives to ICE? Interoperability benefits from a single standard If we create another standard, we need to understand which problem(s) it is solving and when it can be applied. ICE is the IETF standard mechanism for solving two problems: NAT traversal IPv4/IPv6 transition Alternative mechanisms to ICE keep showing up in drafts and discussions. They are simpler and more limited in scope. As a group, we need to discuss and understand if there is a new set of requirements. Do we need an ICE alternative for NAT traversal? Do we need an ICE alternative for IPv4/IPv6 transition? MMUSIC @ IETF 82
