CCSD Transportation Department 2016-17 School Board Report

It starts with great people… ~90 bus drivers and bus aides 3 full time mechanics/service techs (1/2 time fueler) Sandi Swanson – Administrative Assistant Kris Hartgrave – Operations Manager Quinn Wolfe – Director of Transportation

2016-17 Routes and the Fleet: 40 regular education routes (two new routes this year) 13 lift bus, van, Edge, Four Oaks, and Prairie Delta routes Six daily van routes for HS, Point, Transition Center Six AK routes Numerous trips and activities on a daily basis 53 regular education buses and 9 lift buses 12 mini vans and 5 cargo vans 79 total vehicles in the fleet

New for the 2016-17 School Year: Four new route buses and two new mini vans Video memo board for driver communication 10 new HD 420 video system (all on same system now) Inventory system and parts organization room New bus referral data collection system Constantly modifying and adjusting daily procedures and protocols to maximize efficiency and safety Applied for a clean diesel bus rebate grant, $20,000 per replacement bus for a total of $80,000

As the district grows how will our Transportation needs change? Immediate Needs (1-2 years): 6 new buses annually rather than 4 each year Connecting road from Ridge to the west transportation lot Video software updates to view video remotely Consider the pros/cons of propane fueled buses Mid-range Needs (2-6 years): 3 new mini vans annually rather than 2 each year Expand the HS loading zone Consider implementing “walking communities” Long Term Needs (6-10 years): Expand the bus bullpen/parking area Hire a third full time mechanic
