Mrs. Ide *I was born in Michigan. Moved to Houston in 2012. I have a degree in Social Work from Ferris State University and a degree in Health and Wellness focusing on family health. Currently, I am working on Masters in Special Education. *This is my third year teaching. My first year in Steps +. *I have a wonderful husband, Jeff, and two boys, Rocky (18) currently in welding school and Connor (13) a freshman at Kpark High school. * I strive to help children learn through play and to inspire life long learning.

Yvette Pingel Yvette was born and raised in Harlingen, Texas. She attended University of Texas-Pan American. Before moving to Kingwood, Texas. I have been married to my husband Matthew for 30 years and we have a beautiful daughter-Megan, who has since married and given us our two greatest Blessings, two precious grandsons. My passion in life is my faith, my family, and teaching your precious children. I have enjoyed  being a part of Humble ISD for 24 years. I thank you for allowing me to take part in your children's first experience in education, and look forward to seeing their growth.

Hunter Hogue Hunter was born in Houston. This is his second year as a Steps+ para. He is getting married in November. Hunter is a guitarist and has a band. He enjoys playing for our students. He is looking forward to spending the year with your students while helping them grow.

Morning Schedule 8-12 7:00-8:00 Breakfast/Table Activities 8:00-8:30 Greeting/Calendar 8:20-8:35 Restroom 8:35-8:50 Snack 8:50-9:10 Circle Time 9:10-9:25 Independent Work 9:25-10:05 Centers 10:05-10:15 Clean UP 10:15-10:30 Music 10:30-11:00 Lunch 11:00-11:15 Restroom 11:15-11:30 Dinosaur School 11:30-12:00 Outside- Steps+ Dismissal @ 12:00

Afternoon Schedule 11:55-12:05 Restroom 12:05-12:30 Table Activity 12:30-2:00 Nap/ Quiet Activities 2:00-2:10 Restroom 2:10-4:45 Enrichment Activities - outside play, table activities, crafts, extra center or computer time, etc.

Lunch 10:30-11:00 *Students may bring their lunch or purchase a tray in the cafeteria- $2.20 You may come and eat lunch with your child on any day!

Fruit/Snack Break Please bring a snack for your child to enjoy. (2 a day for Employee Preschool students and 1 a day for Steps+ students) If you would like you may bring a labeled cup with a lid for water.

Morning Drop Off 6:45-7:15 After 7:15 Employee Preschool parents may drop off their child at the side door (Door #2) next to the front office in the large parking lot off of Oak Briar, a paraprofessional will bring them back to the classroom After 7:15 Parents may drop off their child at the front office and your child will be escorted to the Steps+ area. *Parents please be aware these doors do not open until 7:30, so you will need to wait with your child until a teacher or safety patrol student are available to walk them to the classroom

Dismissal Procedures Steps+ students will be dismissed at 12:00 at the front office. Employee Preschool Program will be dismissed in the classroom. Parents may park on the Upper Lake circle and walk in the cafeteria doors to the classroom. Students must be picked up by 5:00. You must sign out your child from the classroom. Please note there is a $10.00 fee per minute for late pick-up. After being late three times, your child will be removed from the program.

Change in Dismissal Please make sure you fill out the form on how your child will be getting home and give to the teacher today. To change the way your child is dismissed, you must send or fax signed written notice to the teacher. Emails will be accepted as long as they include a contact number.

Absences/Tardy To report an absence, call the absent line at 281-641-1819. Attendance report time is 9:40 for this year. Please work all appointments around this time. Students are tardy if they arrive after 8:05.

Oaks Communication Each grade level sends out (email or hard copy) a newsletter every Monday letting you know of the week’s activities within that grade level. Websites have up-to-date information HOOT SCOOP – School-wide newsletter is sent out every other week on Thursdays. A hard copy is sent home as well as an email to all families who have an email address in our database.

Dress Code Not allowed Short shorts, mini skirts, halter tops, spaghetti straps, low cut or midriff shirts, flip flops, inappropriate decorations or advertisements on shirts To play on playground equipment students must have tennis shoes or shoes with a back

Early Release Dates Steps+ students will leave for the bus at 11:40. Employee Preschool Students will follow a normal schedule. **Dates are listed in the Oaks Parent/Student handbook which is provided in your packet**

Birthday Treats Treats may be provided if they are store bought It is up to the teacher on when the treat is given to the students. Ice cream may be purchased from the cafeteria and eaten during the students’ lunch period….281-641-1808.

Classroom Management Plan Each student has the opportunity to earn “Super Star”. This allows your child to earn a treasure box toy for extraordinary behavior.
