HYDRAULIC PRESS OPERATOR START RATE: 19.22 SHIFT: Production Swing PLANT: BRICK REQUIREMENTS: Applicants are required to test-out on 3 pieces of equipment within the department to attain Specialist rate. GENERAL: Safely operate presses, robotics, transfer cars, tractors, etc., according to applicable JSA’s and work instructions. DUTIES: Follow all safety procedures and lockouts as required. Check presses daily for safe operation. Report equipment problems to Maintenance and/or your Team Leader. Operate all presses, robotics, tractors and transfer cars in a safe manner. Set up press properly adhering to brick specifications and quality guidelines as necessary. Transfer proper specifications from production order to press data sheet. Accurately measure bricks to insure they meet specifications. Record all press checks on press data sheets. Check size wheel for proper operation as required on the resin side and record checks. Visually inspect all brick to insure they meet the scrap guidelines. Report any defects to a Quality Control technician and/or your Team Leader. Work on ideas to reduce scrap and become more efficient. Ensure proper numbers of bricks are placed on car or racks, and proper tie-ins are used according to setting pattern. Perform S.P.C. checks as required and record on proper charts or programs. Safely maintain a consistent rate of production. Reduce machine downtime by performing minor repairs. Perform daily and weekly cleanups, including PM, check all fluid levels, look for and report any possible problems. Keep presses neat and clean. Safely and efficiently perform mold changes without equipment damage. Accurately record delay time, car numbers, completion times, piece counts, scrap and brick weights in the shift data report. Inspect and operate forklifts as required. Must be able to repetitively lift up to 80 lbs.   ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Following all applicable work instructions. Following scrap guidelines. Accuracy of paperwork and data entries. Shift data, Time Ticket entries, SPC, etc. Safe and efficient operation of forklifts. Maintaining production output as required. Upkeep and maintenance of machines and work area as required.
