About the Collection Print Materials Electronic Materials 421,181 vols. –Circulating Books 2,791 print periodical titles 12,124 vols. In Special Collections 76% circulating books published in 1990 or earlier 302,772 eBooks 149 databases 16% of ebooks published in 1999 or earlier 44% of ebooks published between 2000 and 2009 40% of ebooks published in 2010+
What is being used? Print Materials Usage Electronic Materials Usage 71% (297,379) books never checked out or used in- house Course Reserve materials have highest use (410 items-circ. 41,061 times) 2% (8,049) books considered high-use (based on 5+ uses) Sept. 2015-Aug. 2016: 63,497 views 5,291 average views per month eBooks comprise 42% of all circulating volumes available
What These Statistics Reveal Based on USAGE and AGE data, along with nearly ¾ of the collection remaining in Open Stacks: Locating approx. ¼ of the collection to closed compact shelving is less impactful to access and browsability than might have been thought
