Recruitment Process Flow and Responsibilities Line Manager for guidance only Best estimate if all information is timely and accurate Recruitment Department for guidance only Best estimate if all information is timely and accurate Vacancy advertised in publication and placed on www.jobs.nhs.uk (where applicable) Redeployment number and authority to recruit obtained from Director. Send with Recruitment Requisition Job Description/ Person Spec/ Advert text sent to Recruitment by 12pm Wed 1 Applications Received in Recruitment 1 Allow 2 weeks normally for display 2 Closing date + one day 2 Applications sent to manager (email/paper) for short-listing 3 Shortlist candidates and return to Recruitment 3 Within 2 days 4 Invitations sent within 24 hours of receipt of correct Instructions from manager. Allow 10 days from shortlisting to interview Conduct interview and copy ID documents for CRB 4 Short-listed candidates invited to interview Details returned to manager 5 Phone preferred candidate offer position subject to pre-employment checks 5 Day of interview or following day 7 Contract to preferred candidate(s) with CRB and OH form for completion and references requested 7 Within 10 days of verbal offer 6 Top Copy of Notification of Appointment form, (NOA), ID documents to recruitment also details of unsuccessful candidates 6 after interview and verbal acceptance of offer 8 Candidate returns OH form to OH and CRB form and contract to Recruitment 8 Allow minimum of 6 weeks from date of offer to commencement 8 Recruitment receives cleared CRB, OH & Refs and bank details Candidate to confirm start date with line manager who contacts recruitment Recruitment reserves Induction and notifies candidate On commencement Line Manager to return remaining copies of NOA with bank details (if received) to Recruitment Recruitment set up employee on Payroll Total time from advert to commencement = 83 days
