Structure of the day 8.55 am: Register and morning challenge and Activate. 9.00 am: Phonics. 9.20 am: English. 10.00 am: Milk and Fruit. 10.15 am: Assembly. 10.30 am – 10.50 am: Break Time. 10.50 am: Guided Reading (After half term). 11.10 am: Maths. 12.00 pm: Lunch. 1.00 pm: Handwriting 1.20 pm: Lesson 4 (Foundation rotation) 2.50 pm: Story and home time.
Expectations Attendance Uniform PE kit We expect children to attend school everyday. Please notify the school office of their absence if they are unwell. Uniform Children should arrive at school with full school uniform. Please make sure this is clearly named so it doesn’t get lost. PE kit Please ensure that your child has a PE kit in school including outdoor wear and footwear. PE kits will be sent hom every half term for washing. Please ensure all kit is fully labelled. Our PE days our Wednesday and Thursday.
Show and Tell As children love to show and tell their favourite things, we do ask that children bring in educational items to discuss with their class. Show and tell will be every Wednesday. We look forward to seeing what they bring in!

Homework Daily Reading Please read with your child daily and record it in their reading records. When is homework given & due in? Homework is sent home every Wednesday and must be in by the following Monday.
Educational Visits Year 1 are currently working towards finalising visits this year, however nothing is yet set in stone. As soon as we know, you’ll be the first to know

If your child has concerns If a child is unhappy we encourage them to speak out about it by: Talking to a friend Raising an issue in circle time Talking to any member of staff Talking to a parent/ carer who can relay worries to us Talking to any class teacher Writing a note to any trusted adult who can then investigate. Speaking to a middle or senior leader
Addressing parent concerns Firstly, please speak to the class teacher or any member of the Year 1 team – we are here to help! If it has not been resolved the next step is the Phase Leader – Mrs Hall (Year 2 Seals) Then, if it still hasn’t been resolved the next step is one of the Senior Leadership Team. Mrs Chadda is based as KS1 senior support.
