The layers of Our Earth The Earth is mainly made up of rocks. The diameter of the Earth is about 12,800km and it contains the following layers: - Crust - Upper mantle - Lower mantle - Outer core - Inner core

Rocks are classified by how they are formed. Rocks are everywhere! What is a rock? A rock is: - A solid - Naturally occurring - Made up of minerals or mineral-like matter Rocks are classified by how they are formed. Rocks can be distinguished into different types, based on their origins and mineral composition.
