The Curriculum in Key Stage 1 In Ladybird and Caterpillar Class, our curriculum aims to be creative, practical, enquiring and energetic. Childhood research suggests that children develop in ways which lend themselves towards to a practical approach until the age of approximately 6—7 years old and they are then ready for a more formal approach to their learning.

What does the learning look like? Personal, Social and Health Education English Maths Science RE PE Topic Work Computing Primary Languages Assessment is ongoing and planning the teaching considers the individual needs of each of the children.

Ways you can help at home Reading – A little every day really does go a long way and helps to establish good routines for the future. Writing – the children use the Cursive style of writing. Spellings using patterns and rules, please practise these as often as you can. Write for lots of different purposes.
