Jones’ News Journal September Birthdays September 19-23, 2016 Reading Kim – 22nd Tristen- 29th Objectives for the Week *I can must know that explicit information is stated directly in informational text *I must know that details & examples from informational text can be used as evidence to support conclusions drawn from text. *I must know that text structure refers to the way authors organize information *I can interpret information presented visually, orally, or quantitatively & explain how it contributes to the understanding of a text. * I can explain the meaning of similes , metaphors, synonyms & antonyms in context *I can find all factors and multiples of numbers & determine if a number is prime or composite. * I can describe the legacy & cultures of the major indigenous settlements in TN including the Paleo, Archaic, Woodland, and Mississippian., synonyms & antonyms Upcoming Events Monday 19th- APEX Fun Run Pep Rally @ 1:00 Tuesday 20th – Make-up picture day Notes from Teacher Monday – PE Tuesday – Library Wednesday – Music Thursday – PE Friday – Art Wish List cardstock (paper) any color Sheet protectors Homework sheet will come home Monday Reading Story Elements Plot Additional information: Assessemnts: Friday – Science, Spelling, Reading/ Language Arts, Math SPELLING WORDS: Culture Tennessee native tradition artifact prehistoric Americans Indians archaic ancient BOOK REPORTS… A reminder to be working on these as they are due Oct. 3rd!! The rubric & examples are on my webpage under the homework tab. The requirement is 3 Chapter books – one of which must be non-fiction. Report can be on either one
