Welcome to Convention!

Why are we here? It’s a weekend to celebrate all of your achievements Meet thousands of Key Clubbers with tons of Key Club spirit Elect the new District Executives Over 40 educational seminars Service and College EXPO Governor’s Ball and Alternative Activities Recognition for Planting the Seeds of Service The experience of a lifetime

What to Expect This Weekend

Friday Dinner Service EXPO College EXPO Meet the Candidates General Session: Opening Seminars Region Session

Friday: Dinner Friday’s dinner will not be provided but you can consider the following: Mi Casa Mexicana Pizza Hut Starbucks Baja Fresh Express Coco Family’s Restaurant Cheese Cake Factory Thuyen Vien

Friday: Service Expo Meet members and organizations across the district and learn about different service projects Club/Division/Region Showcases Preferred Charity representation Kiwanis Family Donations in exchange for merchandise! Gain insight on successful project planning

At the same time as Service Expo Friday: College Expo At the same time as Service Expo Meet and speak to representatives from different colleges and universities Ask questions about college, admissions, and Circle K

Friday: Meet the Candidates During Expos Candidates will be standing alongside their campaign material. Introduce yourself and ask one-on-one questions! Meet all candidates running for district office or seeking international endorsement

Seminars Attend fun, informational, and engaging seminars Friday-Saturday Attend fun, informational, and engaging seminars Seminars for ALL attendees Ask questions and learn with other attendees Socialize and meet new friends

Friday: General Session 1 8:30PM-10:15PM Focus: Opening Introduced to District Executives, candidates, and guests Listen to inspirational speeches and performances made by Key Clubbers Spirit Stick & Social Media Feed Motivational Speaker: Patrick Maurer

Friday: Patrick Maurer Mr. Patrick Maurer is a past distinguished CNH District Governor! Certified Speaking Professional Designation, an honor given only to the top 10% of speakers Serving boldly and rediscovering passion are some of his topics, so get ready for an awesome time!

Friday: Region Session 10:30PM-11:30PM Regions share a room and session Led by the respective Lieutenant Governors; each region’s program is different! Filled with recognition, bonding, and celebration

Saturday Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Caucus Sessions & Seminars House of Delegates General Sessions 2 & 3 Governor’s Ball Alternate Activities

Saturday: Meals Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided. Attendees are required to attend. Breakfast & Lunch = Buffet-Style. Before dinner, BEE sure to change into semi-formal clothes! What is semi-formal? What is recommended?

Saturday: Caucus Session 8:00AM-10:00AM Attendance is not mandatory for non-delegates. All members are welcome to attend caucus OR seminars! The caucus session will be in one room Listen to each candidate’s speech Ask the candidates questions about their campaign and goals!

Saturday: House of Delegates 10:15AM Attendance is not mandatory for non-delegates. 2 delegates from each club gather to listen to the candidates’ answers one last time Delegates vote for the next District Governor, District Secretary, District Treasurer, and International Endorsements

Saturday: General Session 2 1:45PM-3:45PM Focus: Kiwanis Family Hear from the different branches of the Kiwanis Family, such as Circle K and KIWIN’s District Board introduction Region pictures Speeches from KC International President

Saturday: General Session 3 7:30PM-9:45PM Focus: Recognition Get recognized! Distinguished Club Officers Awards Distinguished Lieutenant Governor Awards Division Awards, Member Rec. Program Kiwanis Family Scholarships Recipients Talent Show New Executive Board Announced

Saturday: Governor’s Ball 10:00PM-11:30PM Dance with thousands of Key Clubbers Follow the Code of Conduct! Follow dress code!

Saturday: Alternative Activities 10:00PM-11:30PM Board games and video games Karaoke Photo backdrop Icebreakers with other members

Sunday Brunch General Session: Closing Pictures & Farewells Have a safe trip home!

Sunday: General Session 4 9:30AM-10:45AM Focus: Transition 2016-2017 Officers and District Board will be retired. 2017-2018 Officers and District Board are installed. District Governor Kevin will present a retirement speech and make us all cry

Sunday: Convention Closes “Emotional and life changing weekend” will be all that you can think of! Pack up luggage, check out of hotel room, say any last farewells Have a safe trip home See you again for the 72nd DCON in Reno, Nevada!
