Warm Up Draw the world map including: 7 continents (with labels) 5 oceans Do not look at your notes from yesterday.

Climate Definition: The usual weather conditions in a particular place or region. Example: The climate in the Pacific Northwest is rainy most of the year, but has warm dry summers. Task: On your world maps, find one place that has a cold climate, and one place that has a warm climate.

Landforms Definition: A natural feature of the earth’s surface. Example: Mt. Rainier is a landform in Washington State. Task: Draw one landform on your world map.

Turn and talk 1. Why would somebody would want to live near a river rather than a desert? 2. Why would someone want to live on Puget Sound?
