Fundamentals of Acute Stroke and Treatment Course (FAST) Dates : 5th September, 12th September, 19th September, 26th September, 3rd October(Chippenham) plus MCQ Exam on 7th November 9.00-12.00 09.00 am to 5.00 pm Venues: The Academy, Great Western Hospital , Swindon. Training Room 1, Chippenham Hospital 5th September lec 2 12th September sem 4 19th September sem 6 26th September sem 6 3rd October training room 1 Chippenham MCQ Exam on 7th November 9.00-12.00 sem 1 This intensive course is appropriate for Registered Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals who care for patients with acute stroke. The course follows the patient journey from acute hospital admission through to re-enablement and discharge home, or through to end of life care. The course runs over 5 weeks plus a three hour multiple choice examination. In addition to the course, there is an expectation that students will study in their own time, as revision of learning will be necessary to achieve successful completion of the assessment.
