Year 2 Daily Routines What happens in year 2? The children will always be collected by Miss Morrissy from the playground. They hang their coats and bags on their pegs and file into class. There will always be an activity on the board for them to complete whilst the register is taken and dinners are ordered. After registration the children go into assembly. This is followed by guided reading, phonics and literacy. After play the children will have their numeracy lesson. Foundation subjects are taught in the afternoon.

Reading The children will be changing their reading books every day (unless they are reading a particularly long chapter book!) Reading books are taken home each evening and returned and put in trays every day. The children are responsible for remembering this.

Homework Homework policy has been updated and is on the website. Homework In Year Two, children are expected to read for around 15 minutes and practise their weekly spellings each day. In addition they will be given a task that should take around 20 minutes per week. This task will be uploaded to the year two class page on a Thursday. Spellings will be set on a Thursday and tested the following Thursday.
