Task – to create six degree of separation chains that tackle an area of Mary and Elizabeth I’s foreign policies. Task objective – You need to create vertical six degree of separation chains which connect two given events that relate to an area of the topic - English foreign policy – 1553 to 1585. How? – each group will be given two different events and they need to choose four events that link them together. These links must be explained. Materials – A record sheet, card and pipe cleaners. Outcome – each chosen event will be written on a card and connected to the next event by a pipe cleaner making a physical chain which can be hung like a mobile. These will be presented to the class in the plenary so use your record to help you explain your connections. Added challenge! – use red pipe cleaners to highlight which event you think is the most significant and white pipe cleaners to connect the least significant event in your chain.
