Does the new MCSE certification expire? The new MCSE certification will be added to your transcript and will never expire. Every year, you have the opportunity to re-earn the certification by passing an additional exam from the list of electives. Each time you earn the certification, a new entry will be added to your transcript. You can retake an exam you have previously passed after 365 days. This process replaces the previous MCSE/MCSD requirement of taking a specific recertification exam every 2 or 3 years.
