Fig. 7 Polyps were detected on the initial (screening) colonoscopy in 23% of ulcerative colitis (▩) and 33% of Crohn's colitis (■) patients. The subsequent (surveillance) colonoscopies detected most of the polyps found. In 1 patient the first polyp was found as late as the sixth colonoscopy.
