European Modelbased Definition TC Face to Face Meeting on May 7th MBD Status at Festo European Modelbased Definition TC Face to Face Meeting on May 7th

Feedback from User experience Too many combine views confuses user Threads are not found by nonCAD User (Creo or Creo View) Annotations from sketch confuse nonCAD user Creating Annotation in 3D are time consuming The GTOL and datum tag functions show different behaviour in 2D and 3D E.g. This is only possible in 2D not in 3D 3D

Tooling section starts MBD (CHIP) Creo 2.0 Creo View 3.0 Mostly color based communication with supplier Tolerance is descript by a color table

C12493770 / SPR2261576: Annotation visibility at drawing Shown 3D annotation from a sketch can not be displayed in 2D 2D  annotation is missing 3D MBD

Unexpected behavior of layer in drawing and 3D model Creo creates rule based layer by himself, causes unexpected behavior. Start Place view Rule based layer Created by Creo

Problem placing symbols in 3D model Symbols for additional information Symbol with standard symbol function &dim can not be used in 3D Definition of customer’s specific surface symbol not possible, according to the standard PTC surface symbols Customer symbol PTC standard

Improvements based on user experience Combine the combine views for each group of user, e.g. designer with surface modeling technics draftsman  3D drawing creating Detail engineer NonCAD User (Creo View), e.g. quality engineer Expert, e.g. FEM engineer Thread surface should be marked by color Festo Colored thread PTC standard

GTOL / datum Tag according to ISO 1101 and other New ISO standard not supported in Creo 2.0 Different behavior between 3D and 2D Add marking for quality marking on GTOL symbols according to FN940084 Best practices of others?

Future plans Windchill update 10.2 2016 Validation Creo View 3.0 in 2015 Starting project of CAQ with MBD in 2016 Workshop end of September with PTC?

Improvements requests by Festo Group function for combine views Surface color for combine views (volume / surface) Add sketch (cosmetic / datum) to combine views Add surface to combine views Full support for ISO 1101 Improvement for thread visibility in 3D Symbols Placement of surface Full support of 2D function
